What is safety netting installation?
Safety netting is the collective fall-arrest system rigged beneath a work area to catch people and dropped materials. Apex specialises in installing it where a MEWP, cherry picker or scaffold tower can't get to — beneath stadium and grandstand roofs, under bridges, over swimming pools and atria, and across high or fragile industrial roofs.
That makes rope-access netting the practical answer for projects where roof workers need a catch net beneath them but there's no floor or ground to stand a platform on: industrial roof installation and replacement, rooflight and skylight replacement, and rooftop solar installations. The net goes in first, the trade works over it, and it comes out on completion.
Every install is BS EN 1263-compliant and delivered by FASET-trained teams, with weekly competent-person inspection and the test and inspection certification the principal contractor's H&S file needs.

Debris netting overlays
Fine-mesh debris netting overlaid on the catch net or fixed to the structure to contain offcuts, small debris and dropped tools — protecting people, vehicles and the public on occupied sites and over live areas below.
Tensioned access platforms (walk-in nets)
Tensioned walk-on nets that double as a safe working platform — a stable surface to work from in voids, roof spaces and over-water structures where a fixed platform, cradle or MEWP can't be positioned.
FASET inspections
FASET-standard competent-person inspections to BS EN 1263-2 — weekly while nets are in service, with defect logging and certification for the principal contractor's H&S file. Available on our own installs or as a standalone service.

Can you install safety netting where a MEWP or scaffold can't reach?
Yes — that's our specialism. Because the net is rigged on rope directly from the structure above, we install in places a MEWP, cherry picker, tower or scaffold can't be positioned: beneath stadium and grandstand roofs, under bridges, over swimming pools and atria, and across high or fragile industrial roofs.
Do you provide fall protection for rooflight, skylight and solar work?
Yes — fragile rooflights and roof sheets are a leading cause of fall-through injuries. We rig catch netting beneath the roof line so roofers, skylight installers and solar teams are protected by a collective system while they work over it, on both new installations and replacement programmes.
Are your safety netting teams FASET-certified?
Yes — every Apex netting installer carries a current FASET training card. FASET (Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training) is the UK trade body for safety netting and is the competence standard that principal contractors and CDM-conscious designers look for on the supply chain.
How often do safety nets need to be inspected?
BS EN 1263-2 requires a competent-person inspection at least weekly while the net is in service, plus a visual check at the start of every shift. Apex inspection programmes cover both, with photographic logs and certification feeding into the principal contractor's H&S file.
